It aims to utilize captured carbon dioxide gas from power generation and combine it with materials obtained from the ash removal process of power plants or biomass. This effort is directed towards the development of commercially valuable materials, such as calcium carbonate. Supporting this research contributes to Thailand's goal of achieving Carbon Neutrality by promoting and driving the adoption of Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) technologies in a practical manner.\r\n\r\nThe research funding for this project covers the period from July 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022. The main objective of the study is to investigate the efficiency and the synthesis process of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) from gypsum obtained as a byproduct from the Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) process in power plants. The aim is to produce pure calcium carbonate and then use it in the FGD process of power plants. This would help reduce the emission of carbon dioxide gas from power plants, which is one of the contributing factors to global warming.
