ERDI-CMU and TGO Continue to Develop the National Greenhouse Gas Verification Unit to Drive the Country Towards Carbon Neutrality and Net-Zero Emissions
The Energy Research and Development Institute – Nakornping, Chiang Mai University (ERDI-CMU), in collaboration with the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization), continues to advance the development of the National Greenhouse Gas Verification Unit. This initiative aims to support the country’s transition to carbon neutrality and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
On Thursday, June 13-14, 2024, ERDI-CMU will host a training course titled “Certification of Greenhouse Gas Verification Units According to International Standards” at the TK Palace Hotel and Convention, Bangkok. This event is part of a project to develop external evaluators to support Thailand’s carbon footprint certification system, with support from the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization).
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Itthichai Prechawutpong, Deputy Director of ERDI-CMU, will preside over the event and welcome participants from 19 organizations nationwide. The training will include lectures and practical sessions on various topics aligned with ISO 14065, an international standard for certifying greenhouse gas verification units. The sessions will be led by Ms. Rattha Sricharoen from the National Standardization Committee, the central body responsible for certifying standard systems for organizations in Thailand.
